—Welcome to The Mend—

The Mend provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for adolescents and adults across Montana.

Care is thoughtful, steady, and individualized—not rushed or one-size-fits-all. Appointments focus on understanding the full picture, including symptoms, development, life context, and personal goals.

Time is reserved for education, questions, and collaborative discussion. Brief supportive interventions are incorporated when clinically appropriate, with care coordinated alongside therapists whenever possible.

—Clients Served—

I work with adolescents (12+) and adults across Montana seeking thoughtful psychiatric evaluation and medication management.

My clinical and life experience includes extensive work with adolescents navigating mood, anxiety, and attention concerns. I also work with young adults adjusting to life transitions and men experiencing stress, burnout, or emotional strain.

Common concerns include depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related conditions, ADHD, and stress-related challenges.

When appropriate, supportive therapeutic approaches are integrated into care, often in collaboration with a patient’s existing therapist.

—About the Provider—

Gregory F. “Griff” Griffeth PMHNP-BC

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a clinical focus on adolescents (12+), young adults, and adults.

My approach to psychiatric care is shaped by both medical training and a prior professional background in education. Having worked closely with students, parents, and school systems, I bring a developmentally informed and collaborative perspective to assessment and treatment.

For middle school, high school, and college-aged clients, my foundation in education informs how I approach communication, diagnostic evaluation, and family partnership. I place strong emphasis on developmentally appropriate care, clear explanations, and helping parents understand not only what is happening, but why.

My transition into psychiatry reflects a long-standing commitment to supporting young people and families. Treatment is thoughtful, evidence-based, and attentive to the broader systems that influence emotional and behavioral health.

I value collaboration with therapists, schools, and families whenever appropriate.

—Philosophy of Care—

Effective mental health treatment is steady, thoughtful, and collaborative. Care begins with careful listening and a shared understanding of symptoms, goals, and what matters most to each individual.

Treatment decisions are never rushed or one-size-fits-all. Medication is approached as a tool—not a shortcut—and is used deliberately to reduce symptoms and remove barriers to daily functioning, relationships, and long-term stability.

Education, transparency, and ongoing reassessment are central to the process. The aim is meaningful improvement in symptoms, clearer functioning, and sustained progress over time.

—Medication Use—

Medication can be an important component of mental health treatment when clinically indicated. At The Mend, medications are prescribed thoughtfully and conservatively, grounded in careful evaluation, current evidence, and individual response—not trends or quick fixes.

The purpose of medication is to reduce symptoms that interfere with daily functioning, learning, relationships, and overall stability. When recommended, medication is introduced with clear explanation, shared decision-making, and close monitoring over time.

Treatment is regularly reassessed and adjusted as symptoms, goals, and life circumstances evolve, with ongoing attention to safety, effectiveness, and long-term wellbeing.

—About The Mend—

In fly fishing, a “mend” is a small, intentional adjustment to the line that restores natural drift and reduces unnecessary drag. The goal is not to control the current, but to work with it—to restore natural flow.

When fishing nets are mended, their strength and function are restored—often becoming more resilient in the process.

Mental health care often works in a similar way. Anxiety, mood symptoms, and emotional strain can pull life off course. Care at The Mend focuses on thoughtful, individualized adjustments—whether through medication, education, or collaboration—to reduce strain and restore balance.

The aim is not perfection, but forward movement—supporting clarity, stability, and the capacity to move through future challenges with greater resilience.
